It's hard to believe, but the Mk1 Audi TT is now 20yrs old! Shown as a concept coupe in 1995 the Mk1 Audi TT (Type 8N) went into production in 1998 and with its exceptional styling the car remained remarkably unchanged during its 8 years of production. The Coupe, a 2+2 was joined in '99 by the two-seater Roadster, with the majority of cars sharing the transversely mounted 1.8 litre engine found throughout the VAG group, with this engine being available in two states of tune, the 180bhp and 225bhp with Audi's trademark 'Quattro' system the standard drivetrain set up on all 225bhp models.
In 2003 the model line was joined by a 3.2 litre V6 engine. Now with 250PS and improved torque the 3.2 V6 Audi TT could now not only offer the performance of a Porsche but with a sound track to match too! With more aggressive styling, deeper vented front spoiler, distinctive rear exhaust outlet, enlarged rear spoiler, a choice of 18" alloys (RS4's, BBS split rims or 7 spoke Ronal alloy wheels) and with bigger front discs the V6 was also the first RHD production car to be offered with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) as well as a 6 speed manual.
Delivered new in December 2004 this stunning Mk1 Audi TT is an absolute delight and comes with the following specification:
- Glacier Blue Metallic (paint code LZ7K).
- Sea Blue full leather interior.
- 3.2 litre V6 engine.
- 6 speed manual gearbox.
- 18" Ronal alloys - fitted with matched Continental Sport Contact tyres minimum 5mm.
- Bose Sound System.
- 6 disc multi-changer.
- Aluminium double can holders.
- Audi over-mats.
Amazingly this car stunning V6, manual TT shows only 45k miles, less than 3500 miles per year and as such she is in fantastic condition, the Glacier Blue paint is virtually 'as new' and has a wonderful lustre (please follow the video link - click here). The 18" Ronals have recently been refinished in graphite and are free from any damage and with the deeper front spoiler, extended rear spoiler, honeycomb rear diffuser this V6 TT looks simply stunning. The interior is in fantastic condition too, the Sea Blue leather makes the cockpit feel 'airy' and again with such low mileage the interior still looks and smells like that of a new car. The car is fitted with a set of original Audi TT over mats, she has the desirable centre console can holders fitted, the air-con is ice cold and for those who love their music, the Bose sound system really is a step up from the standard Audi system.
At the heart of every V6 TT is the glorious 3.2 litre engine and this one is just perfect. The V6 engine fires instantly, the engine has a lovely deep tone and when accelerating hard this is enhanced further with the throttle actuated exhaust butterfly opening. With such low mileage this car remains wonderfully taught, the clutch is light, the gearbox is supers smooth and being the 6 speed manual this TT is far rarer than any comparable example fitted with the DSG. It its rumoured that Audi only built circa 900 examples fitted with the 6 speed manual and so to find a low mileage example is a real joy.
Showing just 45k miles this car comes with a comprehensive service history (service information - PDI, 17063 miles, 23804 miles, 35348 miles, 38771 miles, 41145 miles, 42707 miles and 43981 miles), with receipts for work done and MOT's all the way back to 2009. Services are a mixture of Audi main dealer and Audi independent specialist and as such import tasks such as Hadlex / brake fluid servicing have all taken place within service guidelines. Within the fabulous history file we're also aware the dash pod has been serviced by BBA Reman, the car is also fitted with Bluetooth / Streaming device, she comes with her full book pack, 2 keys, original First Aid kit, boot mounted Warning Triangle, clear Hpi and is sold with 12months MOT.
With a great level of specification, her rare colour combination and with a superlative service record, this V6 TT 6 speed manual is without doubt one of the finest examples we've seen, a true car collectors example and one assured of its classic status.

"I write these words with a large childish smile still beaming across my face after driving through the Kent countryside, roof down, summers warmth on my face as ‘il Polita’ my beautiful '82 Fiat Spider 2000. This is now June but the story starts in 2018 February at the London Classic Car Show
Glass of fizz in hand with Paul; very good friend of mine. Gazing at auto-erotica, he spots the 82’ Fiat spider 2000 on the stand of ‘Absolute Classic Cars’, with the team greeting us too look closer. A truly stunning example and honestly priced. The conversation flitters between us, the cars of the show, and the possible purhcase of the Spider!
Days later, I call to make a further enquiry to purchase the Fiat Spider. Excitement in my voice is then inadvertently quelled as I find out that the early bird has truly got the worm. Paul has got in before me and struck the deal! All's fair in love afterall. . .
After carrying out a detailed service and additional works the call comes to collect the Spider and on a damp cold March morning we travel up to Lincoln, where we're kindly picked up at the station. Moments later, after a warming coffee, everybody’s happy! The sale's completed and Paul’s in the 'new owners' hot seat of the Spider raring to go. Myself? Navigators seat, perhaps with the slightest of sighs. 150 miles later, we’re home but the drive South has encouraged me to make the call for Absolute Classic Cars to commence the search for another model. This time, most definitely with my name on it!
Over the next month myself and the ACC team discuss cars in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, with the Mark and Carl casting their ever professional ‘laser pin point’ eye over several models. Each time highlighting why that may not be the example for me. Rest assured these guys know their onions and you’re in very safe hands; candid and sincere.
Just when I was beginning to feel the summer would pass without a ‘Spider’ for my own Italian passions, I get a phone call from my friend Paul. Whether it was a hint of guilt or just that he had run out of space for his car collection? .....“Would you like to buy the Spider from me”....I think they were his words, as I interrupted with a ‘yes definitely’ before the sentence was cast from his lips!
I inform ACC to call off the search, the Spider has fund its true home! – ‘Perhaps it was just meant to be‘ he wryly says.
From that champagne fuelled car show, meeting Carl and Mark, the roundabout route of having my perfect car in the garage & now chasing summer horizons. I can honestly say it’s been a pleasure both meeting and finally getting ‘the car’ through the Absolute Classic Cars.
As they say in Italy – ‘Le Dolce Vita’ "
