Shown as a concept coupe originally at the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Mk1 Audi TT (internal designation Type 8N) went into production in 1998 and remained remarkably faithful to its initial design, with the only notable changes being the reprofiled bumpers and the addition of quarter-light windows behind the doors. Launched as a 2+2 Coupe the range was joined in 1999 with a two-seater roadster with all cars sharing their similar retro styling, quality build materials and platform / drive-trains shared with others in the VAG group, meaning the car featured a front-mounted, transversely orientated engine (1.8 litre capacity) with either front-wheel drive or Audis 'Quattro' four-wheel drive system.
In 2003 the model line was joined by a 3.2 litre V6 engine. Now with 250PS and improved torque the 3.2 V6 Audi TT could now not only offer the performance of a Porsche but with a sound track to match too! With more aggressive styling, deeper vented front spoiler, distinctive rear exhaust outlet, enlarged rear spoiler, a choice of 18" alloys (RS4's, BBS split rims or 7 spoke Ronal alloy wheels) and with bigger front discs the V6 was also the first RHD production car to be offered with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) as well as a 6 speed manual.
Delivered new to Bedford Audi, in March 2005 this stunning Mk1 Audi TT comes with the following specification:
- Glacier Blue Metallic (paint code LZ7K).
- Sea Blue full leather interior.
- 3.2 litre V6 engine.
- 6 speed manual gearbox.
- 18" Ronal alloys - fitted with matched Continental Sport Contact tyres minimum 6mm.
- Factory Satellite Navigation
- Audi Concert - Single disc.
- Audi over-mats.
With only 39100 miles, this sensational Glacier Blue 3.2 V6 manual Audi TT is simply the best low mileage example we've found, the Glacier Blue paint is virtually 'as new', not a mark to be found and would look wonderful gracing any dealership, museum or prized in any collection. We've had the 18" Ronals fully stripped, powder-coated in the correct Audi silver and fitted with new centre caps and walking around the with her deeper front spoiler, extended rear spoiler, honeycomb rear diffuser this V6 TT looks simply stunning. The interior is in fantastic condition too, the Sea Blue leather makes the cockpit feel 'airy' and again with such low mileage the interior still looks and feels like that of a new car. The car comes with all the usual TT features, tilt/rake adjustable steering column, heated seats, Driver Information System (DIS), Audi Concert stereo and is also fitted with the rarely seen Audi Sat Nav system!
At the heart of every V6 TT is the glorious 3.2 litre engine and this one is just perfect. The V6 engine fires instantly, the engine has a lovely deep tone and when accelerating hard this is enhanced further with the throttle actuated exhaust butterfly opening. With such low mileage this car remains wonderfully taught, the clutch is light, the gearbox is supers smooth and being the 6 speed manual this TT is far rarer than any comparable example fitted with the DSG. It its believed that Audi only built circa 900 examples fitted with the 6 speed manual and so to find such a low mileage example is a real privilege.
Showing just 39k miles this car comes with a comprehensive service history (service information - PDI, 4089 miles, 7144 miles, 8692 miles, 9470 miles, 11988 miles, 14882 miles, 20497 miles, 27407 miles, 30908 miles, 33122 miles. Services are a mixture of Audi main dealer and independent specialist and as such import tasks such as Hadlex / brake fluid servicing have all taken place along with recent discs / pads. Within the fabulous history file, she comes with her full book pack, 2 keys, original First Aid kit, boot mounted Warning Triangle, clear Hpi and is sold with 12months MOT.
Looking as close to 'factory fresh' as we think you'll ever see, this super low mileage TT ticks all the boxes for the Audi aficionados, rare specification, fantastic service history, zero modifications and being the range topping V6 manual she will only continue to appreciate when cherished by her new keeper.

I had been on the point of completing the purchase of a superb 1963 Peugeot 404 Pininfarina Cabriolet in excellent condition, from a reputable dealer in Holland, when I came across the website of Absolute Classic Cars in Lincoln and was immediately impressed with the very high quality of stock on offer.
In view of my imminent purchase of the Peugeot Cabrio, one car on their website particularly caught my attention - a beautifully restored 1961 Fiat-OSCA 1500S Pininfarina Cabriolet. It was even prettier than the Peugeot, and in even better condition having been the subject of a painstaking ground-up ‘nut & bolt’ restoration. And this was a model that had been built by Pininfarina and had a Maserati-designed engine!
This little Italian gem seemed a more seductive proposition in so many ways. However, I now had to make a very quick decision as the dealer in Holland had already arranged transport to the UK and was awaiting funds! If I was going to pull out and buy a different car then I had to know, very quickly, if the Fiat-OSCA was as good a car as it was claimed to be, and that there would be no complications in doing business with another dealer who I had not had any contact with before.
Well I need not have worried! From the moment I made email contact about the Fiat-OSCA it was very clear to me that I would be in excellent hands and need have no doubt about the quality of the car, the accuracy of their description of it, or the level to which it would be prepared for handover. A deal was struck and I was very impressed by Mark & Carls attention to detail - I think it’s fair to say that they went the extra mile in every possible way to make sure the car would meet my expectations and my needs. I only ever had the feeling that I was dealing with people who were at least as enthusiastic about this very rare car, and indeed about classic cars in general, as I am, and I found their approach to selling classics to be refreshing, open, honest and highly professional. Mark even personally delivered the car to me all the way down from Lincoln to Devon and made sure that I was happy with all aspects of both the car and the buying experience. Needless to say, I now recommend Absolute Classic Cars to others at every opportunity!"
