With its lineage tracing all the way back to the early 1950's the Mercedes-Benz SL range , SL standing for 'Super-Leicht', still remains in production today, now in its 6th incarnation as the R231 series, built from 2012 to date. The SL has always been the marques luxury convertible, offering its driver / passengers sporting pedigree with refined opulence, which in recent years has seen some models costing well in excess of £90k, before completing the 'chocolate box' options form!
In 1989, replacing the long-lived R107 model, Mercedes introduced its newest SL, the R129 model and as with most new Mercedes cars it incorporated a number of innovative features, (optional) Adaptive Damping System and the automatically extending roll-over hoop which would self-deploy should the car be involved in a collision. During the 12 year production span, the R129 was offered with a variety of engines, from the initial 190bhp 3 litre straight six engine found in the 300SL to the range topping 389bhp 6 litre, V12 engine found in the SL600 (AMG models excluded) and during the production span the car received a number of facelifts updates keeping the cars interior & exterior styling fresh all the way to the end of production in 2001, when the larger R230 model was introduced.

It’s been a while now, but I'd just like to say "thanks" for selling me one of the best Triumph GT6s . I'm having so much fun with her, and have named her "Olive" . I am slowly buying new parts as others wear, but have to say the finish on the paint work is awesome. I took her to a new classic car garage opening the other week and have to say she stood her ground very well. Owning a classic is so much fun, I feel very privileged.
