Morris Minor Traveller - SOLD
1969 Morris Minor Traveller
- 1100cc with 4 speed manual.
- Almond Green exterior.
- Porcelain Green interior.
- 'Improver / Project'.
Offered for sale as an 'improver / project' this delightful Morris Minor Traveller was first registered on the 1st Feb 1969 and has been owned by the same keeper since 2013. She is finished in her original Almond Green exterior with complementary Porcelain Green interior and at some time in the past has been restored / sold through the Minor specialist 'West Riding Classic Cars Ltd'.
The car, it would appear, has seen little use in recent years, but presents herself well. The bodywork / paint is in good condition with no real areas of concern and the wood, although suffering from peeled varnish in some areas, it is actually structurally robust and hasn't gone 'soft & spongy' as the wood can do when not cared for. The exterior wood-work would benefit from a good sanding back, possibly wood bleaching and then treating with the correct Danish / Teak oil or similar, it's best to avoid varnishing as this cracks / peels and can lead to water ingress. We've no doubt that with a little attention the woodwork could look lovely again. Walking further around the car we're pleased to say that the chrome is lovely; bumpers, bonnet embellishers, hub-caps etc, the glass is free from scratches and the wheels / tires are all good too.
The interior of the car still looks great and needs little attention to really smarten up.
Mechanically the car also appears to be good (importantly the engine bay, bulkhead especially, are in good order), the 1100cc 'A' series engine starts easily and engages gear and pulls away without any fuss, the brakes would benefit from some attention, but as all the parts are readily available from specialist suppliers, we don't think it would take a great deal to sort. The integrity of the wiring also appear sound, with everything working as it should.
Priced according, we feel her area of weakness is around the underbody, she really needs some attention, we'd suggest some new panels or plating. We warmly welcome your inspection, and because we have noted this we are selling her as a "project / repairs" even though she is MOT exempt (we advise her being trailered away and can help potential buyers). Being a 50yr old classic she would now really benefit from having some care and attention given here. With restored Morris Minor Travellers now fetching £15-20,000, this 1969 Traveller is a delight to look at, appears mechanical sound and we feel this little gem could, with time / money and love be an ideal way for an enthusiast, or hobbyist to find their way into affordable Morris Minor Traveller ownership, or offer a nice return once fettled further.

"I have known Mark through the classic car scene for 25 plus years on a personal and professional basis and during this time we have completed several classic vehicle related transactions.
When it came to rationalising my collection Mark was my obvious first choice to market and manage on my behalf the transition of ownership and funding of some of my cars. I was confident Mark would handle this on my behalf due to ongoing business commitments pulling on my time. Marks knowledge of the classic market combined with his integrity and enthusiasm led him managing several potential owners, negotiating a final closing deal with the new owner at a level acceptable to both parties and most importantly with no hassle.
I have now asked Mark to market my next car and also to source a classic Porsche for me.
If you value integrity, enthusiasm and discretion then you will not be disappointed dealing with Mark."
