Designed by Grant Larson, the Porsche Boxster (internal model code '986') took its original styling cues from the classic Porsche models of the 1950's, the 356 Cabriolet, Speedster and the 550 Spyder with the original concept making its first appearance at the 1993 North American International Auto Show. Received with wide-spreed acclaim the 'Boxster' concept (taking its name from the BOXer engine and speedSTER body styling) was developed into working prototypes during 1993-94 with Porsche 964 bodies adapted to take the newly designed water-cooled mid-engine power train and running gear. With number of components shared with the 911 replacement, the 996, the Boxster final went into series production in mid-1996, with the cars being fitted with a 2.5 litre, flat six engine.
During its 8 year production the 986 Boxster saw a number of mechanical engine upgrades, the base model seeing an increase in capacity to 2.7 litres and the introduction of the new range topping 'S' model with these cars featuring the larger cross-drilled brakes from the 996 Carrera 3.4, brake calipers painted red, uprated springs and shock-absorbers, plus a number of additional suspension revisions, wider tyres and the 3.4 Boxer 'S' engine offering 252 bhp, offering a sub 6 second 0-60mph time and 160+ mph top speed.
Supplied new by Porsche Lancaster, Cambridge and registered in May 2002 this beautifully presented Porsche Boxster is finished in Arctic Silver (L92U paint code) with Metropole leather interior and comes with the following specification:
- 3.2 Litre flat six engine - 252bhp

Original ordered under the vehicle lease scheme offered by NHS Wales, the car was purchased by its Doctor owner directly from them in 2006 and therefore has had only one keeper. Needless to say the car has an impeccable service history, for a 45,400 mile car we've never seen one so highly maintained as the Porsche service book shows 14 service stamps (5 Porsche and 9 Specialist) with the last service in 2018 @ 45198 miles, plus associate Brake fluid changes / Long-life Inspection.
With such an amazing service record and her low mileage the Boxster is an absolute delight. Walking around the car it's clear to see that she has been truly cherished, The interior shows no sign of wear on the beautiful Metropole blue leather, the paint-work is in first class order, the electric hood remains in excellent condition and folds quickly at the touch of a button and on starting the flat six engine, one can't help but be intoxicated at the sound as the revs rise in this range topping 3.2 S model.
With her impeccable service record, expensive Becker radio / navigation upgrades, full book packs, Porsche keyfob with 2 keys (plus Valet key), clear HPI file, 12 months MOT and tailored cover this Boxster is one of the finest and ready to be enjoy and be cherished by her new keeper.

I first met Mark & Carl back on 21st Jan this year ('19) when I went to view a Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 Sport, a car I had wanted from back when I was a spotty faced 17 year old. This was a real bucket list moment, buying the car of your dreams that you now have the means to make reality.
On meeting the guys from Absolute Classic Cars I had a really good feeling. When I got there the car was on the ramp ready to be poked and probed. Mark told me a little bit about the car, lifted it on the ramp and let me get on with it, just the way I like to look at cars. Any questions I had he was there with the answer but what I really liked was how he and Carl interacted. The honesty was a real change for me from when normally looking at a car. There were a couple of things I picked out and instead of the usual "that's nothing to worry about", I got "we'll get that done before the car goes out", no excuses just simple honest answers and a promise to fix it.
Anyway long story short, I bought the car and had a list of things I wanted done on the car which were all agreed to be done, in the negotiated price, prior to delivery. Every single thing on that list was done to a superb standard, to be honest it exceeded my expectations and more. Today when the car arrived I could not stop grinning from ear to ear. It was a really emotional moment, a dream fulfilled!
In the last 40 years I have never bought the first car I looked at, however this time I made an exception as I was so impressed with both the car and the people. We are so used to getting rubbish service and substandard misdescribed cars from the motor trade and I found that I was caught a little offguard here which took me a while to get to grips with .... but all in a very nice way.
What makes Absolute Classic Cars different is they care, are honest, knowledgeable and nothing is a problem, big or small. They want you to have the car you want to buy, not the car they necessarily have for sale. I don't think I've ever met two people in the motor trade less interested in pressurising you into buying, they'd rather not sell you the car if it's not 100% the car you want to buy.
From that first meeting to delivery today it has been a fantastic experience. This whole process has been an absolute pleasure, not the normal chore car buying turns into, I would and will be recommending Absolute Classic Cars to anyone that wants a classic car.
